Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.
April Rain Song – Langston Hughes
Rain at the end of May in southern California is a welcome, but unusual event. Today’s unexpected storm was particularly spectacular as it came complete with lightning & thunder. Simply awesome! Fortunately, I wasn’t caught out in the rain this time. The noise and the movement of cars, people, & water were mesmerizing as I remained warm & dry while watching the storm unfold through a window. A part of me (the obsessive part) really wanted to go out, get wet, & grab a few soggy weather shots, but that probably would have seemed a bit odd to my coworkers. Just when I’d resigned myself to simply watching the storm, a flash of color caught my eye.
Red Boots!
Yes, of course, I grabbed my camera & took the shot.
Obsessive compulsion satisfied…
